Sustainable Real Estate Development

Published in tax lawssustainablesan diegoreal estatelawintellectual propertyfinance by Mike Lane

My name is Michael Lane, and I am an associate with Catalyst Law Group, APC, in San Diego, CA, and a member of the Urban Land Institute’s Young Leaders – San Diego Chapter. In a past life, I worked as an assistant project manager for two real estate development firms of varied size on several residential and commercial projects of varied complexity. Currently, I head Catalyst’s Sustainable Building initiative.

Observing our local community’s emerging interest in sustainable real estate development and the on-line community’s sustained interest in blogging, it seems only natural to combine the two to provide insight to San Diego’s business community interested in legal topics associated with the green building movement. Land use, zoning, tax, corporate finance, intellectual property and other practice areas blend to make this legal environment challenging and complex, but rewarding for those who are informed of, understand and are poised to capitalize on its intricacy.

Accordingly, this blog will be devoted to legal trends at the intersection of “green” or “clean” technology and real estate development/construction. More to come soon…
